We’re dog people. We have an Irish Setter and a Pointer — both need a lot of exercise, and both get properly muddy. Every walk meant they came back covered in mud. Keeping them clean meant carrying 25kg dogs upstairs, using the bathroom, getting soaked, creating piles of laundry, and then cleaning the bathroom afterwards. It was hard work, physically demanding, time-consuming, and repetitive. Over time, it got to the point where it started to affect how we treated the dogs — avoiding muddy walks, keeping them on lead more than we waned to and dealing with the consequences when they didn’t get enough exercise.
We tried the obvious solutions first. Hoses didn’t work — the dogs hated the cold water, moved constantly, and it didn’t remove all the mud. Towels helped slightly, but also never fully removed the dirt and just created more laundry.
The only way to actually get them clean was using the bath — which meant committing to a full bathroom clean-up process every time. Because of that, it wasn’t something we could realistically do after every walk. The result was a constant build-up of dirt and stains in the house and more time spent cleaning around it.
The real issue wasn’t just washing the dogs. It was everything that came with it — the time, the effort, and the disruption to our routine.
So we built our own solution. Something positioned outside, where it’s actually needed. Warm water that the dogs were happy with. Something quick enough that we'll use it after every walk and something designed to contain the mess, not move it somewhere else. Over time, that became Rensa.
Rensa is designed for people who want to let their dogs be dogs — outdoor adventures, running free and accepting that mud is part of that. But it’s also for people who don’t want the mess, smells and the outdoors coming into the house after every walk and then needing to spend time dealing with it.
This isn’t just about washing dogs. It’s about getting your time back and keeping your home clean.
